DRIVER RUNS FROM TROOPER – CRASHES & FLEES
Elyria – An Ohio State Trooper watched a driver blow
through a red light in Elyria early Friday morning and when she attempted to
stop the vehicle the driver sped away.
The driver made a right turn onto Turner Street from West
River Road South – picked up speed and then lost control. The driver smashed
into a parked car, a large concrete cylinder - throwing it 15 feet and tipping
it over, then pushed the parked car into the back of a Mugs’ Elyria Auto Tow
truck that was parked on the street.
The driver, a black male wearing blue jeans and a black
jacket, ran from the car and into a wooded area towards the river leaving
behind two injured females inside of the Jeep.
LifeCare Paramedics and Elyria Firefighters treated the
two victims before transporting them to Elyria Memorial Hospital.
The crash remains under investigation.
