DRIVER CRASHES INTO 3 PARKED CARS AND 2 TREES

Elyria – An Elyria man was arrested Sunday night after crashing into three parked cars and a tree on Olive Street.

Police say 36 year old Bob Watson of Elyria was traveling north on Olive Street when he lost control of his van and smashed into the back of a parked car. Watson then back up and continued and struck another parked car (red car named Roxy). Watson then back up and drove up into the tree lawn where he damaged a tree then continued north where he struck another car and went head on into a tree.

Neighbors and damaged car owners were outside by this time saying the crashes sounded like loud gunshots. When they saw Watson attempting to back up and leave again they jumped into action by going to his van and grabbing his keys. Watson then attempted to run away but witnesses prevented him from getting far.

When Police arrived one car owner said Watson told the Officer that he wasn’t the driver of the van. 

Police arrested Watson and charged him with Reckless Operation and OVI.
