HOME INVASION – 3 PEOPLE ASSAULTED

Elyria – Three men entered a home in the 200 block of Chestnut Street in Elyria just after midnight Friday morning with baseball bats and tire irons. They assaulted and robbed the residents.

Police responded to 213 Chestnut Street and found 3 victims, all with head injuries, on the front porch of the home. The victims stated that three black males, all wearing grey hoodies, hats and bandannas over their faces, entered the home and demanded money. One suspect was carrying a baseball bat, another a tire iron and the third had something wrapped in a blanket that appeared to be a long barreled rifle. One of the victims pulled the blanket off and saw an unknown wooden object. The victim yelled to the others that it wasn’t a gun. Another victim then attempted to call the police, that is when the 3 suspects began beating the residents. After striking three of the residents on the head the three men fled from the home across Chestnut and through an alley. Police who arrived on scene within minutes of the call were unable to locate the suspects.
