BIKER FLOWN AFTER CRASH

Elyria – An Amherst man lost control of his motorcycle Friday evening and crashed on Leo Bullocks Parkway.

Police say that 45 year old Scott R. Hammond of Amherst was riding his 2002 Harley Davidson Road King west on Leo Bullocks Parkway, between Gateway Blvd and Murray Ridge Road, when he lost control. Hammond went off the road, crossed the median and then was ejected from the bike. The motorcycle crossed both eastbound lanes before coming to rest on the shoulder.

LifeCare Paramedics treated Hammond on scene then transported to Elyria Memorial Hospital. Hammond was then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland for further treatment.

It was estimated that Hammond was traveling 50 MPH at the time of the crash. Police have charged him with Reasonable Control.
