TEEN FLOWN FROM AMHERST ER

Amherst Township – A single car crash on Middle Ridge Road Wednesday evening sent a 16 year old to Metro by chopper.
State Troopers say that 16 year old Brenda Rundell was west on Middle Ridge Road when she lost control of the car and crashed into a utility pole – pinning her inside the car.
Amherst Firefighters worked about 20 minutes to safely extricate Rundell.
Once freed from the wreckage Rundell was taken by LifeCare Paramedics to Amherst Hospital where she was later flown by Toledo Med Flight to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland head injuries.
Witnesses say that Rundell said she had a “coughing attack” just before losing control of her car.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
