3 CAR COLLISION ON MIDDLE RIDGE

Amherst Township – An early morning crash on Middle Ridge Road sent 4 people to local hospitals Saturday morning.

Trooper Myron Board of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that 32-year-old Ann Tucker of Lorain was traveling west on Middle Ridge Road when she attempted to make a left turn into a private driveway. While making the turn she struck 45 year old William Baire of Amherst head on.

Baire and his son were traveling east on Middle Ridge Road at the time of the crash in their Bravada.

The collision spun Tucker’s Jeep around leaving both vehicles facing east in the middle of the road. During the collision a third vehicle was struck and received minor damage.

Assistant Chief Jim Wilhelm of the Amherst Fire Department said that although both the Jeep & Bravada sustained major damage, Firefighters were able to remove all victims without having to use any special tools.

LifeCare Ambulance Paramedics treated and transported 3 victims from the crash to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.

Trooper Board said that although the investigation is still ongoing, Tucker will be charged with Failure to yield while making a left turn into a private drive.
