CARLISLE CRASH INJURES 2 KIDS

Carlisle Township – A two-car crash on Route 57 near Waterfall Drive in Carlisle Township sent two people to the hospital Sunday afternoon.

Trooper Joe Cirilo of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred as 62 year old Barbara Delgado of Elyria was pulling out of the Valero Gas Station on Route 57. “She had come to the station because her daughter was having car troubles. They both went to leave the station and Delgado was going to follow her daughter to make sure she made it home ok.”

As Delgado’s daughter pulled out of the station, with Mom following close behind Raven Reed of Grafton was traveling north on 57 – Reed thought that she was going to hit the daughter’s car but then was struck by Delgado’s 2002 Ford Taurus spinning her around.

Carlisle Township Firefighters and Paramedics from LifeCare Ambulance treated passengers from both vehicles – one complaining of pains to her head and the other with hip pains. Both were transported to Elyria Memorial Hospital.

Delgado was charged with Failure to Yield from a Private Drive.
