FIREFIGHTERS BATTLE GARAGE FIRE
Elyria – An afternoon in the workshop ended with a visit from the Elyria Fire Department.
Everett Faren was working in a wood shop located in a garage at 124 Quincy Street, off of East River, when the saw motor heated up and caught a pile of sawdust on fire.
Assistant Chief Ron Brlas of the Elyria Fire Department said that while responding they were told that someone might be trapped inside of the garage. “When I got that call I immediately had our dispatch get LifeCare responding just in case. It turned out that nobody was inside of the garage when our units arrived on scene so that was certainly a relief.”
Although smoke filled the neighborhood the fire was not exactly an inferno. Firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze. There were no reports of injuries.
