THREE BIKERS TUMBLE IN GRAFTON

Grafton Township – What was suppose to be a day of fun and biking Sunday ended with 3 bikers on the ground on Route 83 in Grafton Township.

Grafton Township Fire District responded to the call late afternoon on Sunday on Route 83 about 2 miles south of Route 57. Fire officials say that two bikers spotted a foreign object rolling across the road ahead of them so they slowed down. The biker riding directly behind them didn’t notice them slowing and ran into them sending all three to the ground.

All three bikers were treated by Grafton Township Firefighters and transported to Elyria Memorial Hospital with non-critical injuries. The road was closed for a short amount of time leaving fellow bikers to just watch as the mess was cleaned up. One biker who stopped to help said “this is one of my biggest fears participating in these runs, sometimes they ride a little too close.”

Troopers from the Ohio State High State Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.

more idiots giving responsible bikers like myself and others a bad name. bikers get a bad enough rap as it is. riding a motorcycle and not paying attention is a dangerous combo. hopefully those involved learned their lesson. can i recommend the ohio motorcyclist safety course. they have a great section on "how to ride in groups safely." by the looks of it, im sure this was some sort of poker run. i wonder if alcohol was involved?
