WEATHER ALERT: TORNADO WARNING

The National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WARNING for extreme northwestern Ashland County, East Central Huron County and Southern Lorain County and West Central Medina County.

At 5:01 PM National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated a SEVERE THUNDERSTORM caspable of producing a TORNADO near WELLINGTON – or about 10 miles east of Fitchville and moving east at 34MPH.

Other locations in the WARNING include, but are not limited to, LaGrange & Spencer.

The Warning is in effect until 5:45PM.

THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A BASEMENT. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE. IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE.SEEK SHELTER ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF THE BUILDING IN AN INTERIOR HALLWAY OR ROOM SUCH AS A CLOSET. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY AND ALWAYS STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.

Sounded like the director of Lorain County EMA was about ready to abandon his truck and hit the ditch. Got a little to close Tom?
