A BIG MESS IN EATON TOWNSHIP
Eaton Township – Firefighters in Eaton Township were called to a home on Henwill Road Monday afternoon for a reported fuel spill.
Tom Kelley, Director of Lorain County Emergency Management Agency and Homeland Security, said that the spill is approximately 200 gallons of home heating fuel. “The tank apparently tipped over around 1 P.M. but the Fire Department was not notified until 4 or 4:30 this afternoon.” By that time the fuel had saturated the yard and had drained into an area ditch. Kelley said that they had tracked the spill a mile and a half away.
Kelley said that the scene has been turned over to the Ohio Environmental Agency and the Chemtron Corporation of Avon for the clean up.
