DRIVER STRIKES CAR - THEN A HOUSE

Lorain – Witnesses say that a 21-year-old driver struck a parked car then a house early Sunday morning on West 20th Street in Lorain.

A neighbor, whose father-in-law owns the parked car, said she was sleeping in the front room of their home when she heard a crashing sound. She didn’t think much of it until she heard the Police and saw their lights flashing outside of her home.

The apparent high-speed driver had struck her father in laws car that was parked in front of her home. “I’m just glad she didn’t hit our house cause I sleep right here in the front corner bedroom.”

The crash occurred on West 20th Street about 5 houses west of Pole Ave. – an intersection that has a 4 way stop. The car was traveling westbound on West 20th at the time of the crash. The impact spun the parked car completely around before sending the female through the yards and into the corner of a house.

LifeCare Paramedics treated the female driver at the scene then transported her to Community Health Partners Emergency Room. The victim was flown a short time later to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.

No other injuries were reported.

The Lorain Police Department Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
