WEATHER REPORT

Lorain County – Although many areas in Northeast Ohio are expecting a Winter Storm Lorain County should miss the heavier snow.

The National Weather Service in Cleveland is forecasting periods of snow showers with areas of blowing snow. Low should be around 22 with winds between 16 and 18 mph. New snow accumulation of up to 3 inches is expected overnight.

Snow showers will continue through Wednesday morning adding an extra half-inch of snow to the area.

UPDATE: 8:40 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Cleveland has issued a SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY for Lorain County until Noon on Wednesday.

Bands of lake effect snow will affect the area with some locations receiving 2 to 4 inches of snow overnight and an additional inch or two Wednesday morning as the snow decreases. Some of these bands will come from Lake Huron.

Gusty winds will cause some blowing and drifting snow causing low visibility making travel difficult. If you must travel allow extra time to reach your destination.

UPDATE: Noon Wednesday
The National Weather Service has now extended the SNOW AND BLOWING SNOW ADVISORY until 7 p.m. for Lorain County.


Scattered lake effect snow showers will continue across North Central Ohio this afternoon. One to three inches of new snow is expected where snow bands persist.
