MULTI CAR CRASH - 4 INJURED

Elyria Township – Just as the Ohio State Highway Patrol was finishing up with one car crash on Route 57 near I-90, another one occurred.

Elyria Township Firefighters were called to Route 57 northbound just before the eastbound ramp to I-90 for a multi-car crash. When Firefighters arrived they quickly shut down northbound traffic due to cars being scattered across the roadway.

Captain Russ Scarbrough of the Elyria Township Fire Department said that this crash involved 3 cars and multiple injuries. “We had one car with four people inside, with the extensive damage we had to use the Jaws to get to them so we could remove them safely.”

Sheffield Township Fire Department provided mutual aide with a third ambulance and EMT’s. In total four people were transported to Elyria Memorial Hospital to be evaluated. The conditions of the victims were not known at this time.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
