EAST BROAD STREET HIT SKIP

Rick Reaser was looking at cars in the Jack Matia car lot Friday night when he heard a crash coming from the intersection of Broad and Rt. 57. “When I looked over I could see that a van had struck a car and by the time we had gotten over by the light he had pulled himself off the guard rail and turned around and took off down Rt. 57." Reaser fell in behind the van and called the Police telling them that he was following the van. Reaser followed the van all the way to Georgetown where the van pulled into Sherwood Apartments. “He pulled into the apartment complex and parked the van, when the Police arrived he denied being the driver. Luckily another woman had actually seen him in the driver seat and was able to identify him, plus he had a huge welt on his forehead.”

LifeCare Paramedics and Elyria Firefighters treated the victims at the scene and transported to Elyria Memorial Hospital. One of the victims had to be flown to MetroHealth Medical Center later.

Elyria Police is investigating the crash.
