ESCAPEE'S CRASH INTO TREE

Two 17 year old males who escaped from the Lorain County Detention home last night crashed into a tree on LaGrange Road near Myrtle this afternoon. The escapee’s were in a stolen black Ford F-150 when the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department spotted them on Rt. 301 heading north. The juveniles fled from the Sheriff and after about one mile they crashed head on into a tree. One of the two juveniles was ejected from the vehicle but landed on his feet. Carlisle Township Fire Department and LifeCare Paramedics treated and transported the two juveniles to Elyria Memorial Hospital where Metro LifeFlight was waiting to take them to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. Officials found items in the back of the truck that were taken in robberies early this morning.

Elyria Police and Elyria Fire secured an area at McKinley Elementary School on East River for a second helicopter to land while LifeCare transported the LifeFlight crew from the school to the ER to pick up the second victim
