CHASE ENDS UP IN WOODS



A chase going through the streets of Elyria started after a 41 year old male from Cleveland lifted a stack of leather jackets from the Dillard’s store at Midway Mall. The chase ended when the man drove his pick up truck into the woods behind a machine shop on Taylor Street in North Ridgeville. Lorain County Sheriff’s office dispatched a K-9 unit to assist in tracking the suspect. The suspect was spotted near the Ridgeville Shopping Center on Center Ridge Road a short time later, police and the K-9 unit searched the stores but did not find him. The next morning the police received a call that sent them into the men’s room at A&C Tire on Center Ridge Road where they found the suspect.

The man, Joe Rose, has been charged with Robbery, Receiving Stolen Goods and fleeing. The leather jackets were recovered from the truck Rose was driving. Rose was recently released from prison after being convicted on similar charges.
