Elyria – Stewart Appliances is minus one large screen TV today after someone crashed into the front of their building early Friday morning and walked off with a 50” TV.

Police were called to Stewarts on Cleveland Street at 4:32 a.m. after neighbors witnessed a man break into the store. Neighbors say a skinny black male was driving a silver and red pickup truck that had backed into the front of the store breaking large windows the suspect used for access into the store.

A surveillance camera inside of the store showed the suspect dressed in black clothing, ski mask and gloves. The suspect entered the store and in less than a minute is seen leaving the store with a 50” Panasonic C2 Series plasma TV valued at $999.95.

Officers were unable to locate the vehicle in the area.

Other smash and grab style burglaries occurred around the same hour that Police are also investigating. A front door at the Lake Ave Mr. Hero, a window at Krugman’s Garage on Lake, a window at Think Wireless on North Abbe and a window at Bailey’s bar on Furnace.
