FIRE STRIKES HISTORIC HOME

TMC NEWS PHOTOS / BRIAN WOODS
Firefighters from 4 communities responded to the oldest home in North Ridgeville Thursday morning after a portion of a garage caught fire.

The home at 6050 Otten Road is the oldest home in the city. Fire officials say that nobody was home when the fire broke out and no injuries were reported.

Although the cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said the fire was contained to the attached garage that also houses a one-bedroom apartment.

Avon, Sheffield Village and Elyria Fire Departments assisted North Ridgeville Firefighters in battling the blaze in very frigid weather.
