TEEN PLEADS GUILTY

FOR ABDUCTION ATTEMPT, DRUGS & MORE
Elyria – A 19 year old Elyria man pleaded guilty today at the Lorain County Justice Center on charges of Tampering with Evidence, Having Weapons Under Disability, Attempted Abduction, Possession of Drugs and Aggravated Menacing.

Police say that in October of 2008 19-year-old Jarell Davis attempted to abduct a 20-year-old woman and her baby while he was in an altercation with another man on Foster Ave. While threatening to shoot the woman if she did not obey his demands, the other man fled the area. Davis is said to have followed firing just under a half dozen shots in the busy neighborhood.

Elyria Police Officers swarmed the area within minutes of the 9-1-1 call and after a search of the area found Davis in a back yard. A further search of the area turned up clothing that Davis had ditched along with a small semi-automatic handgun.

When Davis is sentenced he could get up to 8 years in prison.
