CRASH SENDS MOM TO HOSPITAL

Carlisle Township – A collision Sunday afternoon on Route 301 sent a mother and her two children to the hospital.

Trooper Lance Deshuk of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that the investigation is ongoing, but at this point it appears the woman driving the van pulled in front of the other vehicle. “She was traveling south on Route 301 and was going to make a left turn onto the ramp to go east on Route 20 when she collided with the Honda.”

Witnesses riding motorcycles right behind the mini-van said the woman “just turned right in front of the car.” The Honda CRV was traveling north on 301 at the time of the crash.

The woman was transported with her two children to Elyria Memorial for evaluation. Neither of the children were injured in the crash. The driver of the Honda was treated at the scene for injuries to his hand but refused transport to the hospital.

For the pet lovers out there – the dog you see in the photos was riding in the Honda and also escaped without injury.

Trooper Deshuk said that charges are likely for the driver of the van.
