A CONVERSATION WITH THE MAYOR
Last week TMCNEWS.NET presented the story “Taking on City Hall”. The story was about a committee that has formed in an attempt to recall Mayor Grace. The story has received much attention on our comments section as well as others on the net.For clarification, TMCNEWS.NET was contacted by committee members and requested a sit down meeting to discuss the committee’s intentions. After sitting with the committee, and there were more people at the meeting then just the two ladies featured in the story, I carefully listened to what the committee had to say and reviewed the documents they presented us. A meeting was then requested by TMCNEWS.NET with Mayor Bill Grace the same day and the meeting was granted. The sit down with the Mayor lasted over one hour, discussing not only the recall but also other issues important to the city of Elyria.
After the two interviews there was no question that the story would be posted. We had a story of a committee wanting to recall the Mayor of the City of Elyria, how could I not post that story? It is up to those who read the story to decide who is creditable and who is not. I believe that it is only our job to present both sides.
With that said, I also wanted to present the rest of the conversation that I had with Mayor Grace. Part of the discussion was that a lot of citizens aren’t fully aware of all that is going on in the city, or why certain things are happening. I encourage you to take a few moments and read the entire conversation with the Mayor, I think after you read it you will say; “Ah, I did not know that.”
The conversation covers issues with the Fire Department, Route 57 construction and how money is being spent to keep the city running.

Great job!! TMCnews news you always show there is a story on both sides of the fence not just the side some happen to be leaning on.
Very nice spin job made by the Mayor, but its time we citizens stop talking about what needs to be done and just take action. It’s my option that ever since Mayor Grace lost to the then unknown Betty Sutton 2006 he has this aptitude, I have to stay a Mayor of a City so I will run it my way and if you don’t like it too bad.
Does anyone else get that feeling?
One other note for the spin team of Mayor Grace, and that is by you trying to make an issue that the folks who started this are nothing but Trailer Trash hasn’t help the Mayors future. It just confirms that the Mayor and his Administration really do think the folks in Elyria are stupid.
Yep, when the tax renewal goes down for the second time, I wonder if he'll still blame it on the illiteracy of the voting public?
TMCnews is the only News origination that I know of that is at least reporting both sides of this story. I bet come May 31st when the committee meets there will be reporter’s there one from the Chronicle as well as the Lorain Journal to see how many folks show up.
My thought is they will only report on it if there is just a small number that shows up to spin the recall committee doesn’t have a chance. There should only be a few folks on the committee anyways three’s company and four is a crowd as they say.
Most folks are only interested in signing the petition to get the ball rolling. Therefore if only a small few only show up not be deal besides the committee only has to get 1,600 signatures to present to the Board of Election to get them certified.
No spin done by the Mayor. He just stated facts. Thanks to TMC for posting both sides. Its very evident the teo people, not ladies for sure, have no clue and are only acting on their personal vendetta.

Isn't it interesting that most of the people in Elyria get it and those that don't the mayor finds a way to hire. The mayor has a perk of all perks. He drives his car and doesn't have to verify how many miles he drives. He gets .505cents per mile with longevity and pension added to that some. Wow,drive a gas hog adds to his retirement pay and ruins the city at our expense. He wants to run the schools and the fire dept and can't do what he was elected for. How many more perks and hidden agenda's does he have we haven't found out about. Does he claim miles on his income tax too? To those of us who get it ,it's time to recall Billy. We have a school board and a fire chief now we need a real mayor and clean out the left over trash a city hall.

Couple question to TMCnews….did the Mayor request a black and white photo to be taken? If so what was the reason?
All the positive things that can be done to assist this community in moving forward and helping individuals in need - and all this "energy" being used for negative purposes. What a waste. The most revealing fact is that the two women that are trying to cause a recall - DO NOT EVEN USE THEIR ENERGY TO VOTE WHEN THEY HAVE A SAY IN ISSUES! ASK THEM IF THEY VOTED RECENTLY. IF THEY ANSWER YES, THEY HAVE VOTED IN THE RECENT PRIMARY AND GENERAL ELECTIONS (ALL OF THEM) THEY ARE LYING TO YOU. Don't take my word for it, it is public record!
In answer to the question about the photograph taken of the Mayor for this story. No, the Mayor did not request a black & white photo.
I made the decision to make it black and white while editing the photo. If you look through the pages of photos from various scenes you will see that I like to make certain photos black & white. To me, some photos just look better in black and white.

Looks like you Mr Mayor better be worried about the recall coming at you..
I'm sure they will have alot to offer Council for reasons to consider, as you keep burying yourself..
