Sigh. I am not suprised. I divorced a cop who threatened he knew how to hide a body and get away with it. Threatened and abused me and my children. I still fear him. It's not uncommon in cops. I hope he gets treated like a normal person would in this situation.....but cops get treated differently, period.

sad, sad, sad

This is why I couldn't be a cop. There would be no trial, at least not for him.

It is sad to hear that Phoenix had an abusive relationship. It is even sadder that she is ignorant and vindictive in her opinion that abusive police officers is common. Phoenix your husband abused you because who he was not what he is. Law Enforcement risk themselves everyday to help those can not help themselves and this risk is even greater when responding to domestic violence call. Maybe someday Phoenix you can get past your blanket hatred and put the blame where it is deserved on the man and not the badge.

Besides this story should be about support and respect for a family that lost a daughter and an unborn baby. God bless the Davis family in their time of need.

adamis, I never said that I hated my ex. I am saying it is quite common for cops. Before you start accusing me of a vendetta, did you even CLICK the link for my name and go to the website?

I post these things for a reason. Perhaps one person will see themselves in a situation similar to what Jesse was in, and get help before it is too late.

Bobby got away with alot more WITH his badge, which I feel got him up to the point he is now. He has a ciminal past and got a slap on the wrist for it, all thanks to the boys in blue club.

And darlin, I know all about the risks police face, I work with em every day as a paramedic. I have many friends that ARE cops. I do not hate them. I musta hit a nerve with you!

"It is even sadder that she is ignorant and vindictive in her opinion that abusive police officers is common"

You should read up before you start accusing me of not stating facts in the arena that cops kill their loved ones and on a frequent basis.

First all, you’re link doesn’t work or I would have checked it out. Second I believe it is you with the raw nerve. This misconception that “cops” get away with all this stuff is out dated. They live and work in a fish bowl and with the exception of getting some courtesy from speeding tickets. They are held to a higher standard then the general public because, like you, they feel they get away with everything. I also like the “some of my best friends are cops” defense. If they are you should be ashamed of yourself how you are spurting out misinformation. If they are good friends then maybe you should be having this conversation with them instead of me, because it is apparent you are still carrying A LOT of baggage around from when your ex hurt you.

You read a few support blogs on the internet and think you can start quoting stats. I’m sure you are also the type of person that think all priest a pedophiles, all Irish people are drunks, English people have bad teeth and white people can’t dance.

You appear to be a strong gal and I’m glad that you were able to over come all that you have. You just need to make you put the blame were the blame is due and not on a group of people just because it make it easier for you to cope. You can be an abusive person in any occupation. Law enforcement doesn’t breed them, they don’t support them and they don’t protect them. Period.

It's not her fault, she's just a product of our society.

Like so many others.

phoenix already convicted him based on what she heard on the news or in the paper. If she is a paramedic she should no how inaccurate the media is and hold her opinions until the trial is over.

The link phoenix left worked just fine for me. Seems saying it doesn't allows folk to keep thinking the problems aren't common or treated differently. Suit yourselves. As long as the problem isn't dealt with, the problems will remain.
Back to Jessie. Canton Police HIRED someone with dv problems in their history. They FIRED him for being a liar. Arbitration brought him BACK - a lying cop with dv history. He has had protection orders put on him since being a cop - the most recent in 2007. Tell me Canton didn't know that. And as this story unfolds my prayer is that the question of "who knew what when" will be asked...
People love to call that "blame." It's called accountability. Can't fix a problem you don't identify. Can't prevent more deaths like Jessie & Chloe's without finding out what more could have been done with what was known.
Hate to hit and run - but I will do my best to not check back here and ARGUE with people who speak as if they know what they know not. I DO know. If you want to LEARN more you can contact me.
In the meantime, I invite you to go ahead and explore the link that phoenix left for you. That blog is only a sample of what is happening.
Risk rocking your knowledge base.
I AM HEARTBROKEN about Jessie and her daughter, and her son and her family. I am heartbroken for her community, Canton Police Department, and all of those working on this case. I am heartbroken for all the victims who can't call the police.
I am heartbroken in Tacoma, where our police chief shot his wife and himself - where the city and police knew of his wife's allegations but chose to not investigate because he was a "stellar" chief. From where her reports of death threats was seen as a "private matter."

YOU tell ME what favor that was for the chief now?

If this cop is found guilty of this terrible crime, he should do life without parole in solitary confinement with just a bucket. The death penalty is too good for the like of him. I want him to suffer the rest of his life if he is found guilty.
