MAN FALLS 50 FEET IN CASCADE
A 20 year old Elyria man, Michael Beal, was “hiking” in Cascade Park late last night and fell approximately 50 feet. Beal, who was alone, was unable to call for help.
Around 6:30 this morning, approximately 5 hours after he had fallen, a park employee, who was in Cascade unlocking the bathrooms doors and getting the park ready for the day, heard Beal yelling for help. The park employee notified the Elyria Police Department who then sent an Officer to investigate. Elyria Police Officer Scott Willis found the man in the woods after parking his car near the ford crossing and hiking about 300 yards. Officer Willis found Beal at the base of the famous Pink Floyd Rock. Officer Willis accessed Beal’s injuries and requested the Elyria Fire Department and LifeCare Ambulance to the scene.
Elyria Firefighters and LifeCare Paramedics arrived and began treating Beal while other Firefighters searched for the best and safest way to move Beal out of the woods. Firefighters dropped boats in the water and moved the man across the Black River to the ambulance.
LifeCare transported Beal to Elyria Memorial Hospital where Metro LifeFlight was waiting to take him to Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center. Beal suffered serious injuries to his leg and minor cuts and bruises across the rest of his body. Officer Willis had advised LifeCare early on that Beal had suffered a left femur deformity with loss of feeling in his lower leg.

UPDATE:
Some corrections and updates to this story.
Mr. Beal was walking along the wood line above Cascade Park heading to a friends house and due to the darkness he walked in an area that he shouldn’t have and fell 50 feet into the park. Beal says that he had an argument with a friend shortly before his walk through the woods and that is why he was on foot and in the woods.
Lastly Braden Fox has come forward t say that he is the one who discovered Beal lying near the Pink Floyd Rock. It is unclear why Fox was in the woods but he wanted TMC NEWS to know that it was him and not the park employee who found Beal.

Hiking, late at night? Climbing rocks, late at night? Whatever happened to parks closing at sundown? He should have been enjoying a "fourth meal" at taco bell. This could have been prevented, maybe he was under an influence... Anybodys smell illegal contriband...?? Perhaps. Good luck sir, stay out of the woods.
Was that anywhere near the infamous NLC rock?

Braden, Your comment was erased by you not by anyone at TMC NEWS. Second, we wrote the story based on the report from the Elyria Police Department. Sorry you didn’t receive the credit you felt you deserved here on TMC NEWS. Have you contacted the Police yet to correct their report?
So, WHO called the police? im confused. I haven't been down there in a while. The pink Floyd rock has looked better.
