CHILD INJURED BY RIDING MOWER

An accident with a riding mower this afternoon injured a 5 year old boy in Avon Lake, sending him by helicopter to Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center.

Avon Lake Fire Department Paramedics responded to the Cottonwood Ct home around noon after receiving a call of a lawnmower striking a child. Paramedics quickly requested Metro Life Flight to respond to the area. Avon Lake Police and Fire set up a landing zone in the fire department parking lot. Paramedics treated the child at the scene then transported him to the awaiting chopper.
