YET ANOTHER SUSPICIOUS FIRE
Sheffield Township – Firefighters were called back to Vincent Elementary on North Ridge Road around 3am Sunday morning after a neighbor spotted a fire near the school.
Chief Joe Bandagski of the Sheffield Township Fire Department said that a small area of the mulch around the playground set was found on fire when they arrived on scene. Bandagski would not release many details about what they found at the scene but did say that they are treating it as a suspicious fire.
Concerned neighbors said that they are worried about what might be next the next target. “I think it’s interesting that the boy has been released and now another fire,” said a neighbor speaking on condition of anonymity due to fears – speaking of Ernest Phillips. Phillips was charged with the last arson fire that destroyed the playground set one week ago.
The fire remains under investigation.
