NATIONAL NIGHT OUT
Sheffield Township – As hundreds were stuffing themselves with steaks, potatoes and some great cheesecake for desert at last Saturday’s Steak Fry, others were using the opportunity to promote this Tuesday’s National Night Out.
Township Trustee Chad Parsons said that this Tuesday’s marks the Township’s 3rd year participating in the program. “It’s very important for all residents to attend as we will have professionals on hand to answer questions and to inform the community on safety awareness and the prevention of crime.”
Parsons said that with the overwhelming success they have had in the first two years they plan to have representatives from the Lorain County Emergency Management Agency, Lorain County Sheriff’s Department, Med Evac helicopter, LifeShare Blood Bank and of course Sheffield Township Firefighters.
The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the St. Lads Picnic Grounds on Clinton Ave.
Parsons said that this is becoming a great community event within the Township. “It’s a great way to not only learn about safety and to communicate with the professionals, but this is a great opportunity for the community to visit with and perhaps meet their neighbors. I do encourage people that are planning on attending to arrive early, as we will have free refreshments – as long as they last that is. We’ll also have giveaways for the kids and raffles for adults. This is also a great time for our residents to meet with our wonderful Fire Department personnel so we hope everyone makes it a point to participate on Tuesday.”
