STRONGSVILLE MAN CRASHES INTO WALL

Elyria – A Strongsville man was seriously injured Saturday night after crashing his pickup into a concrete wall on West River Road.

The man was traveling westbound on West Bridge Street when he failed to stop for a stop sign at West Bridge and West River Road by Basils Lounge. The truck went across the road and struck a concrete wall just under the railroad overpass crushing the front part of his truck.

Firefighters extricated the man from the truck before turning him over to LifeCare Paramedics. LifeCare treated the man at the scene and then transported to Elyria Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to a Cleveland hospital for further treatment.

Although the man was speaking at the scene it was unclear as to why he did not stop at the posted sign.

Elyria Police are investigating the crash.
