LORAIN MAN ROLLS CAR ON 511

New Russia Township – A Lorain man rolled his 1995 Honda Civic Thursday morning on 511 near Route 20 according to the State Highway Patrol.

Oberlin Firefighters and Paramedics from Central Lorain County Ambulance District treated 42 year old David Hughes of Lorain at the scene before he was transported to Mercy Allen Hospital in Oberlin.

Paramedics had already requested a helicopter meet them at the hospital so they transferred care to the medical team of Metro LifeFlight at the helipad behind the hospital. Hughes was then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland where he was listed in fair condition.

Although the single car crash is under investigation Troopers believe that alcohol played a factor.
