A white male walked into the First Merit on Cleveland Ave in Amherst Wednesday afternoon and robbed the bank.

Police say the man entered the bank just before 3:40 p.m. and handed a teller a note. After reading the note, the teller complied with the request of the note, giving the suspect an undisclosed amount of currency.

The suspect left the bank and ran in a northerly direction, across Cleveland Ave and toward the Olde Towne Pizza Shop.

The scene was processed for evidence by Amherst Police and FBI Agents.

The suspect was wearing a baseball style cap with logo on cap, dark in color long sleeve T-Shirt with writing on chest and sleeves, possibly dark in color athletic-style pants with white stripe going down legs (possibly described as “swishy” pants)

Police are not releasing any additional information about the robbery at this time.
