MAN ROLLS TRUCK OF W ERIE
Lorain – Lorain Firefighters responded to West Erie Ave, just east of Baumhart Road, Saturday afternoon after a man crashed his truck.
The man was traveling west on West Erie Ave when he went off the left side of the road going through high grass and down into a ravine – slamming into a pole. Firefighters found the man trapped inside of the truck that at this point is resting on its side.
Using the Jaws of Life and other cutting tools, Firefighters extricated the man from the truck through the driver’s side window. Paramedics from LifeCare Ambulance treated the man on scene then transported him to Community Health Partners Emergency Room. The man was later transported by ground to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland.
The condition of the man is unknown at this time.
The Lorain Police Department Traffic Division is investigating the crash.

I was looking at these pictures and saw a picture with three firefighters all with LFD on thier jackets. My question is why is there 3 different color turn out gears? Just thought it was intreasting. Does it mean something or no?
Heather
Good job reporting on this story TMC. Have you read, or tried to read the Morning Journals version? They are a bunch of uneducated heartless morons there. Haas
To answer some or all of the question that Heather asked, down at the bottom of the coats is says Lt. (lieutenant)yellow and the red is Chief.
The red piping or stripes represents firefighters. The yellow represents the Lieutenants and Captains. White is the Assistant Chiefs and Chief. Same with the helmet colors. It's much easier to see who is who. Haas
Ok that explains the stripes but why is some gear black and some tan? Thanks for explaining the ranks to me I know some of it from my boyfriend who is a firefigher.
In Lorain the tan color is old gear. It is used for rookies untill they get their perminent gear or it is used when another members newer gear is too dirty or wet to be worn at the time. Haas
I may not have explained it all. The coats and pants are black. That is the most recent colors. The Assistant Chiefs and Fire Chief wear the white coats. Makes it easier to distinguish them at a fire scene. Haas
Thanks now I get it. That makes sense.
Why are there still Lifecare staff that don't wear their vests or coats?
