ONE MAN DEAD – ONE WOMAN INJURED
DEVELOPING STORYElyria – A spectacular crash Tuesday night in the 1600 block of West Ave has sent two people to the hospital – one has died from his injuries.
Police are still working to put the pieces together of the 5-car crash that apparently only had occupants in one car. Witnesses say that the red corvette had been seen “flying down West Ave” near 12th Street seconds before crashing into 4 parked cars. Battered cars and debris were strewn across the roadway and throughout yards stretching a full city block.
Even though the Corvette came to rest in the center of the road – Firefighters and Paramedics from LifeCare Ambulance found the two occupants on opposite sides of the street when they arrived on the scene. Neighbors watched as Firefighters performed chest compressions on one of the victims next to one of the damaged cars.The vehicles sustained such heavy damage, four of the five cars had to be towed away on flat beds trucks.

at first i felt bad about my "natural selection" comment since the person was a passenger. then i reconsidered once i noticed someone on the chronicle comment section mention his criminal past. i looked this guy up, and just on the elyria muni site he has 91 yes that is 91 different cases. some of them with multiple charges. how was this guy not in jail?? i wonder how much money this guy cost tax payers over his lifetime.

Hey what's the big Idea I mean the man was the passenger. Nobody speaks about Kimberly Smith the alleged driver of the car.. Every body is so quick to point the finger because he has a criminal background,so basically if you have made any mistakes in your life then you should be DEAD. So to the person that made the comment about "Natural Selection" then why are all the Murderers,and Baby Rapers still alive? Every individual that posted a negative comment about this man do you even know him or just what he has done that you have read about.Then let's not just focus on the bad but there is always some good don't you think or are we all so closed minded?
If you would have looked most of Mr. Voorhies charges were being drunk in public...having arrested him a couple of times, I can tell you had he may have had a drinking problem, but all in all he wasn't a terrible person and didn't need to die this way.

apparently they havent been stupid enough to do 100+ miles an hour in a residental zone while under the influence and have mr. darwin's theory catch up to them.

as a police officer how do you control yourself with some of these people. does it not piss you off that you have to arrest the same people over and over for the same offense only for it to be dismissed in court. then 2 weeks later he is doing it again? yes most of his charges were alcohol related, but there were a few assaults, robbery, and thefts too.

Bullshit. Cops need to open there eyes and ears. She was driving. And so what about his past or what he did in the present that shoulnt have cost him his life. I hope they find out the truth lemmeo was a good man no matter what he did He was just fun. That broad going to hell for that one.

Yes he will be missed and may he Rest In Peace but, for so many that care about him why are we making comments as anonymous????
